There are many different types of leathers that are used to make apparel, purses, wallets and boots. For riding apparel, deerskin is the best choice for a variety of reasons. In addition to its attractive and sophisticated look, deerskin is a stretchy, lighter leather with a lot of natural oils, so it stays soft and supple use after use. While deerskin has natural oils that will keep it soft and supple for years to come, proper care is essential. We recommend using breech wash products for care of your deerskin breeches. Machine wash separately in cold water on gentle cycle. Do not use any fabric softener. These products can adversely affect the dyeing process of the leather. To dry, hang breeches away from direct sunlight. Do not place breeches in the dryer. After drying, the leather may feel a little stiff. Just go ahead and put your breeches on. You will be amazed at how the leather will soften up again.
