While the standard endurance cutback is made with forward flaps, we've designed this exquisite saddle with dressage shape flaps so you can change out the 2" stirrup leathers and trail stirrups for 1" leathers and English irons for the show ring. Dressage, Paso Fino, Arabian, and TWH owners will love this saddle for its close contact, light weight, and flexibility to move from show to trail! The contrast created by the combination of colors and textures is gorgeous! This saddle is unique with med oil hand tooled skirting and a black calf skin seat it also has small Pegasus cameos hand carved within the basket weave pattern. While everyone appreciates the beauty of this stunning saddle, anyone who spends hours in the saddle will appreciate the rider comfort features considered in our design. The seat is ESS plush (extended support with layers of neoprene and memory foam to "nest your bun." Because of the extra padding, we made it just a little larger to fit English riders who use a 17 - 17.5 seat or Western measurement (15-16) The seat is also stitched down for aesthetics and ventilation. Most riders like the look and feel of traditional saddles so we've used a full tree (3/4 wider than the normal EC tree) to assure that this saddle will sit down on the horse. Horse comfort is primary when considering any Ortho-Flex design and we

you have a short backed horse - no problem! The flex fit yoke will allow riders to

The leather is supple and shows use, but in this case that is a very
good thing. It was very well cared for by someone who knew what
they were doing and so it has that beautiful patina and even has the
smell that I associate with quality English bridle leather. Some of you
know what I mean. There are certain smells- for example, the smell of
fresh cut grass or rain on a summer day - that
stay with us for a life-time and when sensed invoke
feelings of
comfort and happiness. Smell
is one of the things that I love about horses. I love to bury my
nose into my horse's neck and breathe deep and I love the smell that

The Ortho-Flex "Stitchdown model" all purpose saddle is a really comfortable saddle for long hours in the arena or on the trail and is one of our most popular saddles! Ortho-flex Dresseur.
The Dresseur dressage saddle with cutback head is designed for the experienced rider. It puts you in the classical dressage position. Like the Premier, the Dresseur is positioned well behind the moving shoulder, freeing the forehand for extension. The Dresseur has a more traditional English seat shape—quite close to the horse—and it positions the rider slightly further forward than the Premier, requiring a somewhat more legs-under position. The Dresseur is similar to a Premier but with a lower rise. Very few people notice the difference between the two saddles unless they are placed side by side. The Dresseur has a very secure seat and comfortable seat. It has knee rolls, like the Premier, but with straight dressage flaps, and a cut back, pommel. It has a good "sweet spot" or seat pocket to keep you secure. It sits down on the horse's back to allow for good seat cues. (Ortho-flex calls this close contact.)

The Dresseur models we have in stock are wider tree models that will usually fit even wide backed fox trotters, wide QHs, mutton withered Arabians, and warm bloods. I ride my wide backed, mutton withered Paso Fino stallion in a Dresseur from time to time and it fits him like a glove. I love that feeling of being close to the horse! If you want a light weight saddle with a lower pommel to allow you to get your hands in proper position, but you also want a secure seat, you will love the Dresseur. I prefer the Dresseur to the Premier because it has a lower rise and is more comfortable to me. Men, in particular and as a rule, prefer the Dresseur because the lower pommel is less confining. Sold

Ortho-flex UKD -Ortho-Flex UK Dressage
The
Ortho-Flex
UK Series saddles were
hand made in England by Frank Baines, President of the Society of Master
Saddlers and Master Saddle Maker, Barry Swain. Barry Swain served
as the 1990 Saddle Fitting Course Examiner for the British Equestrian
Trade Association, and was a member of the Society of Master Saddlers.
Their work is respected throughout the industry. As far as I'm concerned, the
UK Dressage was the best saddle ever made.
The UK series have not only flex panels, but a spring panels that absorb
more shock. The tree was designed with a narrow grip for close contact
with the butt and thigh. I personally own several UKs: I
have a UKD just like these. I have a UK Feather that I use on
alternate days for training and distance events, and my UK Exmoor that I
use for jumping. I spent $700, on a well used 20 yr old UK Feather
and another $1500 repairing it and I know I got a great deal! You
couldn't talk me out of it. I love my other UKDs for the same
reasons - reasons impossible to accurately explain - the balance, the
leather, the feel - impossible to get from anyone anymore. ....
I am constantly on the look out for any
of the UK series especially the UKDs. I rarely find one that is in
perfect new condition. Today, I have 1 in near perfect -
condition. 17" in black. It
looks brand new! The UKDs have a secure dressage seat, a
place to velcro on detachable knee blocks on the inner flap, and a separate
billet flap that is secured to the tree. They are very light weight -
maybe 7 to 10 lbs. They do run true to size. The UKD was used by
the British Dressage team in the 1990s, so you can be sure that the UKD
will allow you proper dressage position with your legs under you. I know
some dressage people who are not been fond of Ortho-Flex because they
feel too far off the horse's back - my trainer was one (now converted). Honestly, only your horse will know that
you are not riding in a fixed tree dressage saddle. He will be more comfortable because your weight
will spread over a larger surface area and n Fitted for removable knee blocks! |

(western sizing equivalent to 17.5-18.5 English sizing) Used and in like new
condition. Made by old company. This beautiful all black saddle
has a s titch-down
seat, 2" biothane leathers with buckle covers. The saddle has not been
used much at all. Although it had a perfectly good system 2 panel system
on it, I thought I had a sale for it and the prospect wanted a short
system. So while it was at the factory being inspected, I went ahead and had
a brand new system 6 flex panel system put on it.
Brand new billets! The wider gullet, standard
on the express lite, will accommodate the extra padding on the system 6
and while allowing the saddle to sit down on the horse where most people
like it to be. The system 6 flex panel system is a short system
with flexible fingers on both ends for more flexible movement. It has
skito like padding on the underside for sensitive and/or curvy backs. I
have found that the system 6 solves most fit problems and is ideal for
all types of horses (whether short or long backed). Even though
a short panel system, it ensures maximum horse comfort on long rides,
multiple day events, and when mounted by heavier riders.
This used Express Lite saddle comes with brand new billets as well. The original
billets looked almost new, but were made of the thin leather that was
used in years 1998-2002. I know from experience that they don't last, so
I replaced them. Those of you who have bought from me before, know
I can't sell something I don't believe in! Stitch down padded seat. Bootie shown did not fit new panels so is not included. $2899.

Torsion Treeless Saddle
This
beautiful saddle has been used but is in excellent condition. The fabric
is a sue de like material, and very secure. The bottom is called hydro,
it's made to be a tacky tack pad. The saddle is totally washable.
Torsion saddles are
 made in Italy and are the top of the line in
treeless saddles. They offer the balance lacking in most treeless
saddles and have a gullet so that undue concussion pressure is not
entirely on the spine as is the case with other treeless saddles. This
saddle is the ultra lite model - no longer made and weighs only
5lbs.Thats right 5 lbs. Pleasure riders, endurance riders, and trainers
will find this saddle perfect for almost any style of riding. And it is
advertised to fit almost any horse. The removable pommel is made of
fiberglass. Yes, the pommel can be removed so that the saddle will fit
the widest of horses! As A matter of fact, all of the saddle
parts can be removed taking it down to a bareback pad so you have lots
of options when it comes to how you ride in this saddle. It measures 16"
from zipper to zipper. The total length of the saddle is 24" . The
saddle looks dirty and faded in the pictures, and although used, it
looks far better in real life than in the pictures. To show the
detail in the saddle, I need light but the light makes the red part of
the saddle appear pink. It is not pink, but really red. I
can see it on a palomino, black, gray or white horse in the 4th of July
parade or endurance ride! And wouldn't it be nice to be able to
just hose off your saddle and wash it down with laundry detergent!
